Manitoba Pork Council is the association representing Manitoba's 1200 hog producers. Our mission is to foster the sustainability and prosperity of the pork industry for the good of all hog farmers and all Manitobans. Our vision is to become a Centre of Excellence for pork production in Canada.
Manitoba produces over 9 million pigs annually and is Canada's largest hog producing province. The Canadian Quality Assurance program, our on-farm food safety program, focuses on the production of wholesome and safe pork. The value of hog production to the Manitoba economy is about $2 billion, making hog production Manitoba's leading agricultural industry. Manitoba hog producers are committed to producing high-quality pork for consumers at home and around the world
